Product description
The Soft CE Approved Level 2 Back Protector Insert is the simplest and best value option for adding spinal protection to your motorcycle jacket. Many jackets do not come with back protectors fitted as standard, so adding back protection should be one of the first things to do after a jacket purchase. This back protector insert has been tested and certified to EN 1621-2:2014 Level 2 standard, offering higher levels of impact energy absorption over Level 1 protectors. The viscoelastic construction of the protector moulds to your body shape when worn and returns to its original shape after impact or deformation.
There are 3 different sizes of this protector available: Small, Medium and Large. They are designed to offer suitable protection for different torso lengths. However the pockets in many jackets are designed to take only one size of protector regardless of jacket size. Compare the protector dimensions given in the Size Guide tab to the dimensions of the pocket in your jacket to ensure you select the size that will fit. You should ensure that the pocket in the back of the jacket is the same shape as the back protector, since pocket shapes can differ between jacket brands and models. For example, most of the Oxford Riderwear range of jackets take the Small size of this protector.

- Hook and Loop Securement Option - The body side of the protector has the 'hook' side of a hook & loop fastening attached down the centre line, which allows a more secure fitment in jackets that have a hook & loop fastening in the protector pocket. It is supplied with a separate 'loop' strip that can be attached to cover the hooks when this fastening method is not required, or alternatively can be sewn into a jacket.
- Positioning - The curved side of the protector (the side WITHOUT the hook and loop strip) should face outwards, away from the body
- Inserting Into Jacket - Back protector pockets in motorcycle jackets usually have narrow openings: the protector should be gently rolled into a tube-shape which will allow it to be inserted more easily. Once in the pocket the protector can be flattened
